Engine running HOT, Gage on H, could this be because i need a oil change?

well running rough while on hot is not a good sign, you are going to learn a lesson here, you need to either learn how to open the hood wonce in a while and do some basic checks like OIL , COOLANT, or take it to a shop and have someone do it. I answered your post last night, under NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES it should be ok what you did was not normal sorry good luck
