Why doesn't the brain overheat or at least get noticably warmer than the rest of the body?

There's all those thousands of neurons firing all the time, and each firing releases energy. Energy being released generates heat, right? You don't sweat from thinking, so it doesn't have that to keep it cool. How does the brain regulate its temperature?
