JBL Sub turns off and on?

I will bet on robert's suggestion and maybe also consider the on and off thing to be a signal problem. Some subwoofers are designed to automatically turn on when a signal is detected and prolong idle will shut-down by itself to save energy. So it may be some kind of a subwoofer relay problem. Maybe also check the connectors and cables.
