What happened to music?

does anyone else feel a serious void in pop culture as far as music is considered right now. It's really sad that kids today only have tired rap and this corporate Disney pop music. Even the bands now that try to rock just cannot. A lot of it sounds like a watered down version of music from 15 years ago. It's time to bring back real rock, its not just a novelty for commercials to use to sell stuff, I know there is more than likely bands that are good but do not get heard because of a lack of interest in promoters and radio stations. IPods and Mp3 and downloading kind of back fired on us huh, without sales of CDs the market for new bands and good music disappeared. No way to keep track of sales, no more top 40 hits if there is no way to measure what people listen to. I guess Danny and the Juniors had it wrong when they sang "Rock and Roll will never die" I'd say its dead as Dillinger
