Computer Monitor Mysterious Black-outs.?

Hello my fellow readers. I seem to not be able to figure out why my monitor, just out of the blue, goes into power-save mode. However the computer doesn't shut off, I can still hear whatever is going on like my music or game. I predict it might be an overheating problem but I don't know for sure. Would anyone have a clue as to what the problem is, and if so can you be so kind as to give me a possible solution? It would be vastly appreciated. Thanks for reading.
